Rachel Arredondo

Rachel joined Whipsaw as a User Experience Designer in 2022. She crafts experiences and products in the space between humans, the technology we build, and the systems we inhabit.  As a first-generation Mexican-American, she is working to create equitable and inclusive design futures.

She completed a degree in Digital Arts and Professional Writing from the University of North Carolina. She then went on to finish her graduate studies in Human-Computer Interaction at Carnegie Mellon University to solidify her expertise in thinking about design, product, and research at a systems level.

Before design, Rachel lived in Japan and was an apprentice to a Japanese master potter and an ESL teacher for several years. This experience instilled a deep appreciation of the natural world, the tenderness of humans, a careful eye, and a love for details.
