Dan Harden Featured in California by Design TV Series

This spring, Whipsaw CEO Dan Harden will appear as a regular in the upcoming TV series California by Design: Innovations where the state’s top designers and entrepreneurs compete over that next big idea.
A panel of judges deliberated over 33 cutting-edge innovations throughout the series’ six half-hour episodes to determine who will take home the title “Innovation of the Year.” Harden serves on both the judging panel and as a presenter throughout the season.
The show’s executive producer Mike Chapman originally kicked off the competition series Australia By Design: Innovations in 2017 and retained the same format for the California spinoff. The innovations spotlighted in this series are set to influence a variety of industries including MedTech, homewares, airline travel, health and wellness, rideshares, fashion, and space exploration.
Each episode tells the compelling story behind the design being showcased, and viewers will finally go inside the process of turning a concept into a high-impact innovation.
“We think about design as an artifact or gadget—form follows function—but it’s starting to change and become polymorphic. Now it’s more of a verb. It’s a way of thinking about an experience. This show accurately captures the narrative of where we are today,” Harden remarked.
