Project Manager (Hardware)
We are looking for a detailed, product-focused project manager with a strategic mindset who knows how to define and implement a comprehensive project plan. As a Project Manager at Whipsaw, you will oversee a diverse range of projects from beginning to end, focused on Industrial Design and Product Development. You will thrive being a connective and strategic force at the center of multiple project workstreams and see projects from start to finish. You will be the glue between many parts of the product development process and must be comfortable interfacing with clients, planning strategically, and thinking visually. In addition, you will need to be a self-driven problem solver who desires to be the ultimate team player to bring projects to the finish line and be proactive in your communication approach. This position is based out of our San Francisco studio. Full-time team members are expected to be in person at least 3-days per week.

What You’ll Do
- Initiate program set-up
- Provide team with Program objectives: PRD, timeline, deliverables, budget
- Participate in the initial brainstorming
- Create program schedule
- Ongoing program management
- Be a primary point of contact for clients
- Work with Design Directors and Leads to plan/track the next steps
- Manage day-to-day client communications
- Plan and lead meetings, assign/track action items
- Track progress against Contract and Statement of Work documents
- Manage project risk
- Manage project budget, billing, project schedule, and deliverables
- Drive client relationships and communication so clients feel engaged, listened to, and excited about the process
- Stay in touch with clients and help the business development team re-engage with past clients through continued relationship management
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in program management, project management, or related discipline for hardware or digital product development
- Experience with managing multiple customers or client-facing projects simultaneously covering a combination of business, strategy, design, technology, and delivery
- Work example(s) of delivering a project that met or exceeded end-user requirements, was completed on time, and within budget
- Comfortable partnering with project leads and senior team leadership to deliver on project expectations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Familiarity with project management software including Asana and Notion
- Familiarity with hardware product design and development practices is a plus
- You must have current documentation to be able to work in the United States
