Nike Fuelbands

Nike worked with Whipsaw to develop the design and engineering of the Nike+ Fuelbands a revolutionary line of fitness wearables that track movement throughout the day and translate it into time, calories, steps, and Nike Fuel. NikeFuel is a single, universal way to measure all kinds of activities—from your morning workout to your big night out. The Fuelband is uniquely designed to measure whole-body movement no matter your age, weight, or gender. This is supported by the design and interaction interface of the band. Users can see all of their activity in rich graphs and charts so it’s easy to spot trends and get insights. The more you move, the more NikeFuel you earn.

Defining a New Interaction Model

Users can set a daily goal for how active they want to be and track their progress as they move from red to green. Progress appears on the LED display at the press of a button and with Bluetooth 4.0 users stay constantly connected, syncing data from the band to the Nike+ account while providing feedback and motivation.
